About Nathan Gosselin-Sebens

I am at First Presbyterian because I love the emphasis that this congregation puts on music in worship. I have always found that my spirituality is deeply connected to music. I experience the divine most clearly when making music with others. I feel lucky to get to pursue that divine connection with the wonderful chancel choir at First Presbyterian.

It’s been a bit of a crooked road that has led me here to First Presbyterian. I grew up in the Appalachian community of Cana, VA. Music was always a part of my life. Since then, I have lived in 7 different states and hold a BA in Vocal Performance and a MAT in Choral Music Education. Danielle (my partner), Bailey (our cat), and I moved to Central Oregon when I accepted the position of Director of Choirs at Ridgeview High School in Redmond. So, when I’m not at First Presbyterian, I can usually be found working with the choirs at Ridgeview.

I love nature and animals. Because of this, our family recently decided to become vegan. We have really enjoyed exploring new recipes for our favorite foods. I also love to hike, cuddle with our feline kid, Bailey, and read a good book. Perhaps the least important about me is that I am quixotically optimistic fan of the Carolina Panthers.

If you are someone who loves to sing and/or feels the divine while making music, I hope you will consider joining our Chancel Choir. Just send me an email!
