This is a personal enrichment peer support group for women in the central Oregon community who are age 60 and over and have entered this transformational stage of life. The main objective is to help members support each other and to explore together the challenges and opportunities during this season of life. There will be group discussion, psychoeducation, handouts, and exercises to promote self-agency and well-being. Topics include:
- Embracing or resisting growing older
- Accepting and adjusting to an aging body
- Maximizing individual potential and continuing development
- Spirituality and making meaning
- Creating connections
- Dealing with losses
WHEN: Six meetings on Wednesdays, 9:30-11:00am, starting April 17, 2024. Meets four consecutive weeks, April 17, April 24, May 1, May 8; one-week break, then three final meetings on May 22, May 29, and June 5th 2024.
LOCATION: The Center for Well-being, at First Presbyterian Church

This is not a therapy group, nor a substitute for psychotherapy, psychiatric or medical treatment. Group size will be a maximum of 12 women. Participants are encouraged to attend all six sessions. Attendance at the first meeting is required, in order to promote group cohesion. This is a closed group (no drop-ins) and pre-registration is required. Cost is $25 per 90-minute session, payable when signing in at each meeting ($150 total for six weeks). Fee is $125 if full payment is made at first session. Cash or check only. Make checks payable to First Presbyterian Church. Please bring a notebook and pen.
