All dads welcome! We meet 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 9am at First Pres. (Adjourning around 9:55am for those going to the 10am service).
For the new year, we are adding a Taizé session (mostly first Thursdays, but there are some anomalies https://www.facebook.com/p/Taize-of-Central-Oregon-100071919285548/) and a discussion of Professor/author/podcaster/pundit Scott Galloway’s new book in Feb. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/230733473-notes-on-being-a-man (buy local if you can, Roundabout and Big Story books can both order it if its not in stock).
If you read the book, go in with eyes wide open, there are plenty of valid criticisms of his thoughts. I find him unnecessarily crass sometimes, but like his thoughts around implementing a national service program and reclaiming masculinity from the crypto-bros and MMA fighters. https://www.insidehook.com/mental-health/scott-galloway-new-book-review.
At our most recent December DadsConnect session (thanks to Kenny for the muffins!) James mentioned a discussion between Galloway and Trevor Noah. This will give you a sense of whether you want to read his book: https://share.google/vrOgvPTcXCi7yLjQV
