About Lauren Wray

What is your role at the church, and what do you love most about it?
I’m the middle and high school youth leader! What I love most about this role is empowering youth to grow and make a positive impact in their families and communities. I also love being able to have fun every week with such a joyful, creative, and intelligent group of young people.

Where are you from and what brought you to serve at BendFP?
I’m originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and began attending FPC when I moved to Bend in January. Working with kids and young people is inspiring and energizing, so when I saw the opportunity to become youth leader, I knew right away it would be a great fit! 

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
Something that might surprise people about me is that I spent the summer of 2024 living and traveling on a 30-foot sailboat on Lake Michigan with my fiance’ (now husband)! I am also currently working on a dairy farm in town, and made Pastor Steven laugh when I told him I could only take this position as long as it didn’t conflict with my milking schedule😜.

What’s your go-to coffee (or tea) order?
My go-to coffee order is a chai tea latte or a matcha latte. I’m also a big fan of sparkling water!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities like rock climbing at Smith Rock, running, and hiking. I love music and am part of a dance group here in Bend. I’m also an avid reader and welcome any book recommendations!
