I am at First Presbyterian because it is a faith community that takes the path Jesus calls us to seriously. In the recognition of Jesus’ message to us that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves and to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength we are encouraged here to continue to grow more deeply in our spiritual life and to provide compassionate care to our earth and to its people nearby and around the world.
I have been a school teacher, a church secretary, a customer service representative and administrator in an electrical utility company and a Certified Nursing Assistant providing in-home care to hospice patients and others who were struggling with physical and mental challenges. I am a mother of two grown children and a grandmother of three precious grandchildren. My job here at First Presbyterian seems to have brought many elements of my previous jobs into my current postion as Care Coordinator.
I love to read books on spirituality; most specifically about spiritual practices that help to deepen intimacy with God. For light reading I love a good mystery! Practicing centering prayer is an extremely important spiritual practice for me that has greatly influenced the last 20 years of my life. I love sharing time with my friends and family, gardening and soaking in the beauty of Central Oregon.
