About Becca Ellis
What is your role at First Pres?
My official title is the Director of Family & Children and Communications. Basically, I get to spend my time supporting households with children and designing/producing media to communicate what’s going on in the life of our church.
Where are you from? What brought you to Bend FP?
I moved a lot as a kid, so this question is always hard for me to answer! I was born in Chicago and my childhood was split between the PNW and IL, however most of my life I lived in the Puget Sound area until moving to Bend in 2017. I had vacationed in Bend a couple of times and our family was ready for a change. I saw the position for a Family & Children’s Director at First Pres on a Craigslist search while still living in WA and was immediately intrigued by the idea of “Spacious Christianity.” I applied on a bit of a whim, and now have been here ever since!
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve always enjoyed distance running
and in 2020, I made up my mind to run a 50k by myself (and then decided I never need to run that far again!). Can I say I’m an ultra runner now?
What’s your go-to coffee or order?
A cappuccino or iced almond milk latte, and Little Bear tea by Metolius Tea is my FAVE.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
