About Becca Ellis
I am at First Presbyterian for so many reasons, but one is to be a part of such a beautiful community of people who are trying their best to move through the world the way love does. I am grateful beyond words to get to partner in ministry with this faith community and for the way they support me in my role here at First Pres.
Before moving to Bend to be the Director of Children & Family Ministry, I was spending most of my time home with my three wonderful kids and managing my photography business, while my husband and I focused our “extra” energy on forming a faith community with folks outside of the traditional church building model.
Growing up in the church and with parents committed to serving in ministry my entire life, I have been immersed in all ranges of ministry from leading worship to children’s and youth ministry to supporting small church plants. My husband and I served as youth pastors in our early twenties and worked as a pastoral team at a small church in Port Orchard, WA. I worked as a preschool teacher for a number of years and have a heart for supporting and ministering to parents, especially moms, as they do the challenging and rewarding work of raising humans.
I adopt new hobbies frequently, but currently enjoy writing, running, baking, brewing kombucha (hippie at heart here!), visiting hot springs, photography, painting, hiking, taking my longboard out for a ride and spending time outdoors with family and friends. I am always up for a cup of tea or coffee with good company (or a book!)
