About Becca Breed

What is your role at First Pres?

My official title is the Director of Family & Children and Communications. Basically, I get to spend my time supporting households with children and designing/producing media to communicate what’s going on in the life of our church.

Where are you from? What brought you to Bend FP?

I moved a lot as a kid, so this question is always hard for me to answer! I was born in Chicago and my childhood was split between the PNW and IL, however most of my life I lived in the Puget Sound area until moving to Bend in 2017. I had vacationed in Bend a couple of times and our family was ready for a change. I saw the position for a Family & Children’s Director at First Pres on a Craigslist search while still living in WA and was immediately intrigued by the idea of “Spacious Christianity.” I applied on a bit of a whim, and now have been here ever since!

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

I’ve always enjoyed distance running 🏃‍♀️ and in 2020, I made up my mind to run a 50k by myself (and then decided I never need to run that far again!). Can I say I’m an ultra runner now?

What’s your go-to coffee or order?

A cappuccino or iced almond milk latte, and Little Bear tea by Metolius Tea is my FAVE.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Free time? What’s that? Just kidding 🙂 I’m definitely never bored and have more hobbies than I can count! When I’m not shuffling around my 3 kids, I love going on a long run, gardening, writing, reading, painting, playing music, or spending time in the kitchen with my family. My husband, Jake, and I also both share in our creative passion and joint business of filmmaking and photography, so you can usually find us running around somewhere with cameras, too.
