About Emergency Response

Occasionally, an extraordinary need requires an extraordinary response.  This church community leans into challenges for our brothers and sisters in need.  Some stories from 2020.
Winter 2020, Emergency Cold Weather Shelter:
From Pastor Morgan's update on the Interim Emergency Cold Weather Shelter we are hosting in our building this week:
"We were able to serve 34 neighbors experiencing homelessness last night at First Presbyterian Church. Our capacity is 35 because of COVID and fire restrictions. We have everyone in tents to help prevent potential COVID transmission as folks are sleeping. I have so many community partners to thank that I don't know where to begin, and so many of you brought supplies yesterday, we are overwhelmed in a good way 🙂.
We did have a leaky roof situation at the church over the weekend, and I know some folks have asked me how to support First Presbyterian Church as we host this space. I don't want to make this weird in case you feel weird about church stuff - we won't stop doing what we're doing, and we definitely also appreciate help with overhead, so if you feel like contributing you can do that through this link: https://bendfp.org/giving/online-giving-guide/
Thank you, thank you, thank you friends. I love you all."
