Annual Report for 2024

The First Presbyterian Church of Bend Foundation is excited to share how its financial support has empowered the church’s ministries throughout the year. In 2024, the Foundation approved distributions totaling $41,077 to fund a variety of impactful initiatives:

  • Education and medical insurance cards for children in a Burundi village
  • A nursing scholarship at COCC
  • Family Action Network – connecting children to essential services and ensuring they remain healthy and in school
  • First Presbyterian Church of Bend programs:
    • Food Fund
    • Kits for Kids
    • Music Ministries
  • Scholarships for students in San Luis Toleman, Guatemala
  • ReVillage – a cooperative childcare center

At the close of 2024, the Foundation’s total assets amounted to $857,814. The Foundation’s annual distribution goal is set at 4% of total assets to preserve the original donations in perpetuity. Most distributions ranged from $1,000 to $6,000. However, an exception was made for ReVillage, which received a $10,000 bridge loan in December to cover staff salaries. The board was reimbursed in January when additional funding arrived from other sources.

Funding Process

Requests for funding must be submitted in writing, approved by a pastor, and reviewed by the board’s allocations committee. The full board then deliberates and makes final decisions on each request.

The Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (Tax ID: 85-1978134). Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
