Center For Wellbeing

An outreach to the Central Oregon community.

The mission of First Presbyterian Bend is creating spaces of grace to cultivate hope, healing and purpose. One of the many ways we live out this mission is through our Center For Wellbeing.  We believe mind–body-soul and community are intricately connected with one another.

“The illness of one impacts the wellbeing of all. The wholeness of one impacts the health of the world. Our vision is to be a vital presence and resource of healing and wholeness, welcoming and accessible to all while partnering with others in promoting a greater sense of wellbeing for individuals, relationships, our community and world. “ ~Steven Koski, Lead Pastor

Our programs and services are open to every one. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, gender, gender identity or gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status or sexual orientation. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for every one. Our Christian faith inspires this ministry, but we do not impose our faith on anyone or assume faith for anyone, we practice Spacious Christianity.

Opportunities currently available to aid in creating wellbeing and wholeness.

Reiki

Reiki is hands on prayer whose focus is the life force energy present in all creation. This energy flows through our bodies allowing us to release tension. This therapy can help us be more receptive to the benefits of medicine, rest and other therapies. Two practitioners, using hand positions to focus the healing energy can be done by touching the body or placed above the body at the patient’s request and can be offered while you rest in a chair or on a massage table. You will receive God’s love express through the hands of the trained practitioners.

The sessions are 45 minutes in length and are available on:

  • Monday 1:00 – 2:00pm
  • Wednesday 3:00 – 4:00pm

The sessions are free but donations are greatly appreciated and help to provide training for Reiki practitioners.
