Join us as we welcome Rev. Sharon Edwards on April 6, 2025. Read below for a brief bio and video greeting from Sharon!
Rev. Sharon Edwards is a Presbyterian Pastor, Spiritual Director and Yoga Instructor.
Sharon is an M.Div graduate of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and the University of Kansas with a degree in Music Therapy and Voice Performance. Her Spiritual Direction Certification comes from Stillpoint Center for Christian Spirituality, an open and inclusive community, that draws from many spiritual traditions. Her yoga training was with a community that focused on Yoga’s gift to mental health with her final project: “Grief, the Body and Yoga”.
In addition to serving congregations in Texas, Oklahoma and Oregon, she has extensive experience in retreat planning and facilitating, in person and online.
Sharon has been the Summer Chaplain and Family/Youth week director at Ghost Ranch Conference and Retreat Center and Spiritual Faculty for Companions on the Inner Way, a bi-yearly contemplative and justice retreat. During COVID, she was awarded a Mental Health Grant from the PCUSA and Cascades Presbytery to offer six on-line retreats for clergy and chaplains, where they explored relationships between our nervous systems and body-based spiritual practices. Sharon has just returned from Scotland, where she served as Program Director for the Iona Community in the Iona Abbey.
Sharon grew up in Colorado, where she learned the joy of exploring mountain trails and swimming in lakes and rivers. Daughter, Hannah is an interior designer in San Diego. Son, Bennett, works in retail and is a gifted photographer in Santa Fe. Her 95-year-old father, Don, lives in Albany.
“I am passionate about offering experiences where people of all ages know they are made in God’s image, inspired by Christ, and empowered by the Spirit. I love cultivating community that celebrates the miracle of life and participates in the unfolding purposes of God in ourselves and the world.”
