About Susan T. Evans

Susan Evans graduated with a Masters in Vocal Performance from Fresno State University, California. (She also double majored in classical String Bass studies!) She has been teaching in public schools for 24 years in California and Oregon, plays piano and string bass as well as a mean kazoo… A dramatic mezzo soprano, Ms. Evans has won numerous awards as a classical and operatic vocalist. She has portrayed Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutti, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and the Countess in La Nozze di Figaro, to name a few.

Ms. Evans was the Musical Director of Showboat Dinner Theatre in Los Angeles for 6 years, directing and performing in over 30 musicals, from Cabaret to The Sound of Music. Her high school choirs have qualified for the State Championships in the 5A and 6A Divisions every consecutive year since she began teaching in Oregon. This Fall she begins her eleventh year as the Choir Director at Mountain View High School in Bend. Ms. Evans has served as Chancel Choir Director for many denominations throughout her career, including Baptist, Seventh Day Adventist, Catholic, Presbyterian and Episcopal churches. She presently lives in Redmond with her furry menagerie of two delightful, devoted dogs and four deservedly spoiled cats.
