Praise Team Rehearsal
Each week, the praise team leads worship through music, carefully selected, prepared, and presented supporting the week's message.
Before that, the worship leader consults with the pastor or speaker for the coming week and programs music that supports the theme and message. She then creates arrangements, charts, and schedules to match the skills and abilities of the current week's team members.
Next, our team of dedicated, compassionate, and skilled team members get together and works hard to refine a group presentation of this message. This is a task each member takes very seriously as they will be cooperatively leading the congregation through what is often the most emotional part of worship, it's music.
The team prays every week that each contribution that we bring to service that Sunday culminates to become something far more than the sum of our parts. The collective act of worshiping together is cumulative. And every piece of it, every musician, every leader, and especially every person in the congregation matters.
If preparation didn't matter, then Joseph could have just skipped the pit, skipped the slavery, jumped past the jail and still succeeded in becoming second-in-command of Egypt.
If preparation didn't matter, Jesus wouldn't have spent 40 days fasting in the desert before beginning his public, earthly ministry.
