Sundays, 10:30-noon, beginning September 13, First Presbyterian Adult Center.
Armageddon; The Rapture; 666; The Anti-Christ; The Second Coming; End Times and The Apocalypse, These are all well-known ideas that are attributed to the Book of The Revelation of John, the last book in the Bible. This is the most widely misinterpreted and misquoted book in the Bible. How do modern Bible historians and theologians interpret this book? Are we living in Revelation times or was it all about activities that happened thousands of years ago? Did you know that there is no actual battle at Armageddon and at the end of the book people do not go to heaven, but God and Jesus actually come down to a heaven on earth to dwell with all the people? If you want to learn about and explore this great and hopeful book and develop a new appreciation on how to believe what may happen at the end of the world as a message of hope and grace, then join us each Sunday morning. We use the book, Breaking the Code by Bruce Metzger, the head of the NRSV Bible interpretation team as our primary guide. Bob Pearson will be the facilitator. Contact Bob Pearson at [email protected] with any questions.
