Care Ministries
Reaching out in compassionate care
CARE MINISTRIES
The Care Ministries of this congregation are coordinated by the elected deacons from members of our congregation. The Deacons are entrusted with the compassionate care of individuals within our congregation and those within the community that we are able to assist.
VISITATION TO THE HOMEBOUND: provides visits, copies of the sermons each week, cards, and calls to those unable to have sustained contact with the congregation.
HEALTH CARE TEAM: provides educational programs to improve physical, emotional, and mental health. Medical equipment if made available for loan to those needing them during their time of healing.
HARMONY HOUSE: provides monthly time of singing and fellowship
with residents at Harmony House Assisted Living Facility.
FOOD MINISTRY: collects food on an ongoing basis to help supply the food pantry at St. Vincent de Paul’s collection center. Each Christmas food baskets (approx. three weeks of food) are provided to families in need identified by members of this congregation and the Salvation Army.
BEREAVEMENT SERVICES: assists the Pastor during memorial services and provides receptions following the service for the guests and family members if this service is desired by the bereaved family.
PRAYER MINISTRY: approximately sixty people participate in a commitment to pray for those who request prayers for loved ones. A prayer chain provides a quick way to communicate the requests. A prayer shawl ministry provides approx. six prayer shawls per month that are distributed to St. Charles Hospital and to other individuals who need to be reminded that they are surround by God’s love and the love of those remembering them during their difficult times.
COLLEGE OUTREACH: provides caring connections with our college
students through cards, gifts, and other reminders that they
are being remembered and supported by this congregation.
